Employee Vita Frequently Asked Questions
What are Occupation Specific Vitamins?
Occupation Specific Vitamins are vitamins formulated to address the specific health needs of demanding occupations. This is achieved by creating proprietary blends that address the unique health need such as immunity, stress, energy, joint care, skin care, focus and clarity, heart health, etc. This eliminates the need for someone to figure out what they should take as well as eliminating the expense and inconvenience of taking multiple vitamins.
What makes Employee Vita’s vitamins different than a regular multi-vitamin?
Employee Vita’s vitamins do have a multi vitamin base formula that provides your daily vitamins and minerals with increased B-vitamins. But what makes these vitamins different is the proprietary blends formulated to address the specific occupations health challenges in their workplace.
Can I take an Employee Vita vitamin even though the occupation isn’t the one I am in?
Definitely! Though the vitamins were developed with specific occupations in mind, you can find one that addresses the health needs that you specifically have.
Do supplements alter body chemistry?
Not in a detrimental manner. Supplements are not drugs. They have been carefully designed for use within the program to improve body chemistry. We do not recommend or produce supplements for medicinal purposes. That should only be done by a qualified clinical health care professional. Our supplements are for supporting your health and should enhance normal body functioning.
How is the Employee Vita’s vitamins better than Centrum or One-a-Day?
Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach, Employee Vita supplements are "tailored" to the specific occupational health needs. Our formula uses sophisticated delivery systems to release nutrients in the right place, at the right time.
If Employee Vita supplements are so good, why haven't I heard of them before?
Employee Vita does not develop mass market vitamins, but rather target a very specific market…occupations.
We believe that proper supplement use should be based upon a person's education, food, exercise and goal. Because of this, we do not sell our products at health food stores, grocery stores or through discount warehouses. These locations are for consumers who buy from advertisements, not education.
How can I be sure that the Employee Vita delivery system is as good as you say it is?
We test it. The supplement industry is required to perform one test - disintegration. According to the law, a supplement must fall apart and pass through a screen of specified size within 45 minutes. Following drug GMPs and pharmaceutical USPs, as our manufacturer does through the NSF Certification, requires multiple tests from raw materials to the finished product. Over 26 quantitative and qualitative tests in all. Our manufacturer goes beyond disintegration and performs extensive dissolution testing.
This allows us to verify what, where and when the active ingredients may be utilized by the body. Manufacturers that do not test to this degree may never know the quality of their raw materials.
Are Employee Vita products all-natural?
As natural as can be. All nutrients are extracted from natural food products, put in their natural bio-available forms (saving the body work), enrobed in natural gums and cellulose for controlled release, then tableted and coated with only natural fibers.
Doctors occasionally downplay the need for supplements. Why should we take yours?
When consulting a MD, ask about his/her background in nutrition. You wouldn't ask your doctor what car to buy, don't ask the typical MD about nutrition and supplementation. It is interesting to note that our natural vegetables and fruits do not provide the same amount of nutritional value they used to for a couple reasons. One is that the farm soil has been tilled over hundreds of years, in some cases, which has depleted the earth of many of the natural nutrients. Secondly, we live in an interconnected world where our food supply has to typically travel long distances to reach the store, which in many cases starts to deplete the natural state and nutritional value of the food. Remember, people used to only get their food (fruits and vegetables) from their local farmer.
Why are there so many different forms for a supplement? I see capsules, tablets, powders, liquid, etc.
Unfortunately sometimes supplement forms are based on marketing, cost and company limitations regarding research, technology and equipment. However, a supplement should be prepared based on achieving a maximum desired outcome. This would include: what form the active should be in, how much of the active is needed, for how long, and when and how much the target tissues can accept at one time.
Very few substances maintain stability in a liquid medium, so this is generally the least preferred delivery method. It is however, high on the marketability check list, so some manufacturers will use this method, selling the "ease and convenience" of taking their product. Good marketing, but bad science.
Powders are likely the least expensive method of preparation and depending on the substance in question, may be adequate. The down side is that every time the container is opened, moisture is wicked in and degrades the stability and potency of the substance involved. Powders also increase the likelihood of introducing foreign substances and contaminants into the container.
Capsules are used if the substance needs to be delivered quickly and is not affected by the acid of the stomach. The down side to capsules is that complex delivery systems cannot be used, as the entire contents are dumped into the stomach when the capsule dissolves. Additionally, no protection from antagonistic nutrients can be provided.
Tablets are preferred for sophisticated engineering when multiple ingredients are used and when programmed, controlled release is preferable. Engineering nutrients in a tablet form increases the cost and work required by the manufacturer, making it less popular with supplement companies that do not have the necessary equipment or that use price as their selling point.
A person I know sells supplements from some company and says they are FDA approved. Are Employee Vita supplements FDA approved?
No one sells FDA approved supplements. The FDA is not in the business of approving supplements; it is not their domain. They can, however, disapprove of a supplement. If the FDA determines that a particular substance poses a serious health risk, then it can have it removed from market.
